Scarpar

The Scarpar is an extremely innovative deviation of the skateboard; it is powered by a small electric or petrol engine, throttle is controlled by a handheld wire controller. It is still under development; however the prototype can reach speeds of 60kmh and ride over almost any terrain. Unlike other powered skateboards the Scarpar uses two articulated belt tracks similar to those found on a snow mobile. Because the tracks provide a much larger surface area than wheels the Scarpar is able to ride over snow and sand without becoming bogged down. To me the tracks look like they out perform the wheels of a motorised mountian board which is interesting considering that tracks are normally slower due to having greater friction than wheels.
