Caster Boards

Caster Boards such as the Ripstick and Timber Wolf use swivel casters instead of trucks, they are designed to mimic the carving motion of a surf or snow board with greater accuracy than a standard skateboard. As a result of using casters these boards provide very fluid motion and open a new range of tricks for riders. As with traditional skate boards the tilt of the deck is used to steer the board, however caster boards may use two surfaces hinged in the middle rather than a solid single piece deck, this allows the rider to control front and rear casters individually. Despite the functionality I don’t enjoy the hourglass shaped deck these boards often have. Caster boards are a reletively new type of skateboard, being around for about a decade.
