Motorboards

The Dirt surfer and the land board have been modified and motorised. These range from toy like electric skateboards to more serious petrol or electric land boards. These are all primarily designed as a means of recreation or short range personal transportation, the run time or range is normally small and not practical for travel, they are also not legally able to ride on the foot path or road in most countries. Due to the increased weight these boards are not practical for going further off road than bush walking tracks. It is interesting to see the use of new technology on many of these machines, many take advantage of wireless throttle and breaking control and utilise lithium polymer or other new light weight batteries. However I find the asthetics of these boards poor, they are often bulky looking due to awkwardly placed batteries and motors, some of the electric models particularly look too high.
